Overview
HomeQueue (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a household job and maintenance tracking app available on the web at homequeue.app and on iOS. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using HomeQueue you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you have questions, contact us at hello@homequeue.app.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account with email and password we collect your name and email address. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We store the name and email only.
Household and job data
Everything you create inside the app (households, jobs, upkeep tasks, notes, cost estimates, and scheduling) is stored and associated with your account. This data is shared with other members of your household as intended by the product.
Photos and files
If you attach photos or documents to a job, those files are uploaded to our secure cloud storage. They are accessible only to members of your household.
Device and usage information
We collect basic technical information including device type, operating system version, browser type, screen size, IP address, and pages visited. This helps us diagnose issues and understand how the app is used.
We use product analytics (PostHog) to track which features are used and to record session replays of how the app is navigated. This helps us identify and fix usability problems.
We use ad measurement tools (Meta Pixel on the web and the Meta SDK on iOS) to measure how well our advertising performs. See “Advertising and Ad Measurement” below for what is shared and your choices.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To provide the HomeQueue service: storing your jobs, syncing across household members, and powering the plan scheduler
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
- To process subscription payments and manage your plan (Pro features)
- To send push notifications about your household when you opt in (iOS)
- To improve and maintain the app
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show ads inside HomeQueue and we do not target ads to you based on your activity in the app. We do share limited measurement data (a hashed version of your email and a unique account identifier) with Meta so we can see whether our ads are working. See “Advertising and Ad Measurement” below for full detail and your choices.
Advertising and Ad Measurement
We run paid advertising on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to find new HomeQueue customers. To know whether those ads work, we share limited information with Meta.
What we share with Meta
- A hashed (one-way encrypted) version of your email address
- A hashed version of your HomeQueue account identifier
- The fact that you signed up, and (if applicable) that you upgraded to Pro
- Standard click identifiers that Meta sets on its own (the
_fbpand_fbccookies on the web, or the equivalent identifier on iOS when you allow tracking via Apple’s prompt)
What we do not share with Meta
- Your name in plain text
- Your address, phone number, or payment details
- The contents of your jobs, tasks, notes, or attachments
- Anything from inside other people’s households
How it works
- On our website we use the Meta Pixel and Meta’s Conversions API to send these signals.
- On iOS we use the Meta SDK to do the same. Apple requires us to ask for your permission before tracking using your device’s advertising identifier. If you decline, we still send Meta a smaller set of measurement signals via Apple’s privacy-preserving framework (SKAdNetwork).
- Meta uses these signals only to credit our own ads and to optimise who sees them. Meta does not get to see your activity inside the app.
Your choices
- On iOS you can decline the tracking prompt at first launch, or change it later under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- In your browser you can block the Meta Pixel using ad-blocking extensions or your browser’s privacy settings.
- You can also email us at hello@homequeue.app and ask to be excluded from ad measurement entirely.
